HFHGB is awarded a $30,000 Grant through Wells Fargo's team member volunteer program

Robin Perkins of Wells Fargo first mentioned the grant opportunity during the 2011 home build and was able to get Habitat approved earlier in February. Ms. Perkins was at March’s board meeting to present the check to the board of directors. Trading ‘Money for Muscle’, Wells Fargo’s Team Member Volunteer Program provides financial support to nonprofit organizations when Wells Fargo team members help build, renovate, paint or repair a home for low-to moderate-income (LMI) people. This year Wells Fargo will be providing 600 hours of volunteer labor towards House #15 and other projects. Amanda Charette, Operations Manager of HFHGB says “The support we have received from Robin and Wells Fargo is phenomenal. Every time we build a home for a family it typically takes 30 years to recover the funds used. Having this money from Wells Fargo brings us closer to our goal of being able to help more families in our community. Robin has also been providing monthly Home Buyer education classes for the public right here in our ReStore. Those classes are the first Saturday of every month and anyone thinking of purchasing a home should attend.
